ScaleDown Radio, August 26, 2008

Mark and Chris in the studio

With a recent decision to look into the feasability of a ban on the sale of bottled water by our municipality, we thought it might be a good idea to look into exactly what the ramifications of a decision like this would be. We got London City councillor Cheryl Miller on the phone to talk about what the city of London went through when it decided to pursue and implement a ban on the sale of bottled water at it’s municiple venues.  And after speaking with Enwin’s Sylvia De Vries, one would have to ponder how anyone could justify spending 7700 times the cost of domestic tap water (that is NOT a misprint!) just to have it prepackaged for your consumption, especially after reading the documentation she sent along which shows that Windsor’s tap water (utilizing it’s superior ozonation purification process) is just as good - if not better - than bottled water.

And with the recent mega-dollar anouncements of infrastructure dollars heading Windsor’s way, you know we couldn’t just let that go without a little discussion.  Unfortunately, with so little in the ways of details in front of us, most of it was just based upon what the mainstream media has shared with us.  We are hoping to base the entire show next week on this topic - so stay tuned!

P.S.  ScaleDown Radio is moving!  Mark your calendars, as ScaleDown Radio will now be broadcast MONDAY’s at the same time (noon ’till 1:00).  Everything else is staying the same, folks, so there’s no need to worry about any changes to your favourite radio show!

The problem remains that Windsor’s water tastes like ass.

Far too much chlorination for my taste. Not to mention the fluoride issue. Not sure how I feel about having that aluminum by-product in my water…

PS - That other host is way better. ;)
