Mark and Chris in the studio

With Andrew doing his best “Chris Holt” impersonation, (and bastardizing my intro song!;) Mark, Andrew and special guest Dave Couvillion discuss the contentious “Francis Canal” plan for the City Centre West lands. And let me tell you, they all feel passionate about this plan!

Are they “Naysayers” or simply concerned citizens? You be the judge.

Dave actually owns a home where the proposed canal would terminate near where Bubi’s is located on University Avenue. Believe it or not, he isn’t against the plan, he is simply concerned with the details and whether or not he will loose his investment and see his family as being homeless.

So, will building this canal infrastructure reinvigorate our downtown, or is it more “Pie-In-The-Sky” dreaming? Is there more information that this administration is holding back? (during the latest downtown strategic planning session, this was not even on the radar screen) Are we being kept “in the loop”? Is this the right time for another “Magic Bullet” solution?

This will surely be a hot topic of discussion here at ScaleDown for the near future
