ScaleDown Radio, March 30, 2009
It was a great pedestrian-powered show today on ScaleDown Radio.
Andrew and Mark were joined via the telephone by Windsor native Michael Johnson of the band The New Kings, as well as Toronto groups (where he now lives) Streets Are For People and Urban Repair Squad. This long-time musician turned reclaim-the-streets activist shares his experiences as a car-free activist in Toronto with a Windsor who is primed and ready to move towards a human-scaled transportation system.
Michael J and The New Kings will be playing with Windsor band High Mother this Friday at Phog Lounge in beautiful downtown Windsor, so be sure to show up and introduce yourself to Michael J. and let him know you listened to his interview today on ScaleDown Radio. Hey, better yet - buy the man a beer! These alt-trans activists need all the encouragement they can get! (and I’m speaking from experience, here)
