It was a cool show today, as Ward 3 city councilor Alan Halberstadt joined us in the studio for the whole hour as we talked about cycling in this city and the benefits that actually carrying through our commitments to alternative transportation would see to our quality of life and economy in this city. We were even joined via telephone by Mr. Jeff Olson who is a partner in the cycling/pedestrian based design firm Alta Planning and Design who helped us understand that we are, in fact, plying the correct road if we want to see our city become a little more walkable and liveable.
Councilor Halberstadt spent some more time with us discussing Windsor’s 5 year review of our Official Plan, the downtown canal and other tidbits.
It was a fun show and a big shout out goes to Councilor Halberstadt for taking the time to join us at the station.
Music:
Lead in tune, as always, was If I Had To Eat You by Ten Indians.
Enjoy!

Wow, kudos to you Chris managing to get a Windsor Councilor on air.
I guess the rest of them will have to learn that just ignoring the citizens won’t make them go away, or lessen their message.
Awww, come on Andrew. Alan was only the third Windsor councilor we have asked to appear on the show. There’s still another 8 more (including the mayor) who can say yes!
Think positive thoughts.
I’m thinking positive thoughts right now…. mental image appearing in my minds eye: I see Eddie Francis accepting the invite… and Andrew co-hosting that particular week… [running...ducking]
I’d buy airtime to hear that show!
I have positive thoughts as well. The city finally wakes up and starts to treat the residents with respect. Doing what it is the RESIDENTS want and not what city hall wants.
I would call in and debate the mayor on anything he wanted to talk about. As actions speak much louder than words I could defeat him in six words….quit spending money on your projects.
